BLURB:
‘Coffee with William Morris’ came about over a cup of coffee on Christmas Day 2002. My quilt includes elements of the ‘Brompton’ design on the mug and of the ‘Rose’ wallpaper from Morris c. 1883. It is recorded that William Morris was influenced by a 16th century Venetian silk and gold brocade when he was designing the "Rose’ wallpaper

Finished Quilt Size:
The completed quilt is 172cm x 138cm (68" x 54")
Wider and/or additional borders could be added to make a larger quilt

Materials:
All fabric requirements are based on 42" (115cm) wide fabric

145cm (1.45m) backgroun of your choice (I chose black tone on tone)

Border 1: 20cm floral print
Border 2: 120cm to match background

Appliqué:
- 30cm of three different green prints for leaves
- 20cm pale beige fabric for birds & contrast for wings
- large scrap pieces (at least a fat 1/4 size), various colours including yellow, purple, orange, blue and burgandy
- 2 metres of fusible webbing (Vliesofix)
- Threads: Beige or grey cotton for your bobbin An asortment of machine rayon threads to match appliqué
